Come on, moms, we do it all-- quick changes after baby spit up, mind control through redirection techniques, and the power of sonic hearing! Moms are essentially superheroes, with a whole list of incredible superpowers! What's your super power? #V8EnergyBoost #Ad

My son has gotten really into superheroes lately. Every time I ask what he wants to watch before bed, it’s always, always superheroes. And the other night when I was watching, I realized with all of the quick changes, invisibility, and super speed, Super Powers really aren’t that far removed from what being a mom is like. Moms, we’re basically superheroes, and I’m pretty sure our families don’t know our secret identity, but if you aren’t convinced, here are a few ways that moms are pretty much superheroes…

Moms tend to have Superspeed. Just wait until you’re sitting there and your child picks up an over-heavy glass of water, and see how fast you move in getting it out of their hands. Or, when your child is climbing a tree and almost falls? It is amazing the lightning speed that moms can really move at, especially if their little one is in danger (and it doesn’t matter how tired they are when it happens).

Moms, perhaps you also feel like you’re invisible. How many times do we load and unload the dishwasher, do the laundry, do all of the gift shopping, and get dinner on the table, with much of the family believing it was the product of the dish fairy, or the dinner fairy, or the laundry fairy? It happens all the time… moms do the unseen work that no one notices (unless it doesn’t get done), and because of it, moms have this power of invisibility about them.

We have the ability to do a quick change and we don’t need to spin around in circles or pop into a phone booth to do it. How many times have you been just about to walk out the door to church and suddenly, baby spit up EVERYWHERE? It happens… and I guarantee you change quickly and still manage to make it out the door on time.

One of my favorite powers to have is that of quick healing. Whether it’s a skinned knee or an invisible ache, a quick kiss from mom just tends to make life better. I love knowing that this simple kiss can make my son feel so much better, so quick healing? Definitely on the top of my list.

But moms, we also have powers like super strength. No, we probably aren’t lifting a train or throwing a car, but think about the last time you got sick: you relied on your super strength to get through the day, and despite feeling insanely under the weather, you probably still managed to get everything done and make sure everyone was where they needed to be on time.

Moms have so many amazing super powers– laser vision that helps us keep our eyes on our kids in a crowd, sonic hearing that allows us to hear the slightest whimper from our baby at night, super danger sense where we just have that feeling that things are a bit… off– and it can sometimes be exhausting.

Moms, this is your permission to take a break. We work so hard to be the superheroes all the time. Whether we’re using our power of flight to fly between practice and school and conferences and dinner and still manage to get things done on time, or we’re using our mind control powers to redirect children away from an argument and into a new activity, we just never seem to rest. And that can be so draining, especially when it comes to our energy levels.

Moms can do anything, but without natural energy, we’re pretty much at a loss for the day. I feel like, so often, all of us have this pressure to be super ALL the time. What we forget is that all superheroes take some time off from being super now and then to be normal people.

Clark Kent has his day job when he isn’t saving the world as Superman. Bruce Wayne? Not always Batman, either. Being super all of the time is just really, really draining. And sometimes? I feel so much pressure as a mom to be super that I find myself crashing a little bit.

Take it from this mom… relax.

Give yourself a pedicure.

Treat yourself to your favorite candy.

Buy the shoes.

For five minutes of your life… just take a minute and breathe.

Take the extra long shower.

Make dad pack lunch for once.

Take a little nap.

Get your energy back! For me, I really like the energy boost that comes from V8 V-Fusion+Energy Drink, because it’s feel good energy. Whether I’m pushing my kiddo on the swings at the park or I’m trying, again, to avoid the booby trap that is LEGO all over the house, sipping on this gives me the boost I need to get through my day, and because it’s powered by green tea, I don’t get that heavy crash that I do with other types of energy drinks.

I picked up my V8 V-Fusion+Energy the last time I was at Walmart, and I still can’t decide which flavor I like best (there are 5 regular flavors and 2 diet flavors, and I’m really torn between Peach Mango and Black Cherry as my drink of choice right now). Just like regular V8 juices, this offers up a combined serving of fruit and vegetables, and because of that, it tastes like fruit. Plus, it only has 50 calories per 8 ounce serving, which means I don’t feel guilty about drinking it.

And because I want you to experience this awesome Natural Energy Boost of your own, I really hope you’ll enter this great giveaway:
