A few months ago, I hadn’t even heard of the term “Bullet journal.” To be fair, I also hadn’t tried alli® weight loss aid and I also didn’t own a blender cup or resistance bands… but a lot can change in just a few months, and for me, I can’t imagine my weight loss journey without those things, especially my alli® weight loss aid and my bullet journal.

If you, like me a few months ago, aren’t super familiar with the term “bullet journal,” the idea is that it’s a hybrid between a planner, a journal, a to-do list, a goal tracker, and anything else you need, in one super convenient little notebook that you can take anywhere. Think of it as sort of a “list of lists” for your life– a lot of people keep their bucket list in their bullet journal, or a list of favorite songs at the moment, or books they want to read. But what started as a to-do list of sorts for me morphed into a really effective way to keep track of my weight loss goals and achievements.

The main page that is essential to me is my Daily Page. I go ahead and make about a week of them at a time on a Sunday afternoon, and then I can fill them in all week long. My daily page comprises of a few things that are related to my weight loss journey– like my water tracker, my alli® weight loss aid tracker, and my meal list, and then a few things are just personal for me, like my Top 3 items on my to-do list, my appointments list, and any notes for the day.

For me, the daily page allows me to keep track of important things– like which workout I did– and also highlight what I need to tackle that day. It helps me stay a little bit more organized, and I think it’ll be fun to look back and see what my life was back a year ago, a year from now, in regards to my everyday life.

Another page that I think is a must-have if you’re using a bullet journal to lose weight is the goal tracker page. My notebook only fits half a month, but you may find yours fits more or less. The goal tracker is one reason I picked a notebook with a grid design, but if you don’t have a grid, you can always use a ruler to make your own! I simply placed each day along the top of the page, and then wrote my goals along the side. Many of my goals were weight-loss related, like taking my alli® weight loss aid or drinking my water, but many weren’t, like reading a book or doing my Bible Study. It’s good to just highlight a handful of goals you want to improve right now. Once you’ve mastered those by doing them consistently, you can swap out those goals for new goals you want to get in the habit of!

I also couldn’t get through the journey without a page dedicated to keeping track of my weight loss and my eventual goal. For me, that’s part of why I’m doing this, and knowing where I’ve been, where I am, and where I want to be is really important to me. I know it’s a longer journey and I know it’s one that will take me awhile, but once I get there, I’m going to be so proud to look back and see where I’ve been. Keeping track of it is important to me. To make your own weight loss tracker, just put numbers from your goal weight to your current weight along the side, and dates along the top. I found I felt better about myself if I didn’t weigh in every day, so my tracker had enough room to fit a couple of months on it, but you can draw yours to whatever amount of weigh-ins you feel best about.

For me, taking alli® weight loss aid as a push to help me get to those goals was a no-brainer. Because I’m an overweight adult with a BMI over 25, and because I’m 18 years of age or older and not pregnant or nursing, I qualify to take alli® weight loss aid. I know that I want to lose weight to get to my goal weight, and alongside my lower calorie, lower fat diet and my exercise plan, it has been able to help me lose 2-3 more pounds for every 5-10 that I’m losing through diet and exercise. Plus, it’s really not hard to find– I just picked some up at my local Walmart store when I was shopping for some of my favorite fruits and vegetables. You do want to remember to take your multivitamin and drink plenty of water while you take alli® weight loss aid, so I made sure to add a place in my bullet journal to remind me to take my multivitamin every night. I also made this DIY water intake jar, just to be sure I was getting enough water throughout the day. alli® weight loss aid works by preventing about 25% of the fat that’s coming into your body from being absorbed so it doesn’t get absorbed, helping you get a little boost with your weight loss.*

There are so many other pages you can include in a bullet journal geared towards losing weight… maybe you want to make a page of go-to healthy snacks for those times when you have a certain craving and need a snack idea to fit it. Or, maybe you want to keep a grocery list with a reminder that shopping the perimeter of the store and avoiding the center aisles is a good way to help you stay within the calories and fat you want to stick to. You could even plan out your meals in advance if that helps you personally to avoid certain triggering foods or cravings. There are so many options in bullet journaling to make it your own– I personally am combining a few workout programs, so I like to write in my workout calendar into my bullet journal. If you’re a runner or walker, you may want to keep track of your distances, your favorite songs to run to, or your couch to 5k plan. Anything goes– the best thing about a bullet journal is that it’s totally individual to you and your needs and goals.

While I know my journey is still in the beginning stages, I’m so excited to see what the next few months brings. Looking in the mirror may not show me a huge difference yet, but when I see the pounds coming off when I step on the scale, and when I am able to wear shorts that have been stashed at the back of my closet, I know I’m making the progress I need to make to succeed at reaching my goal weight. I’m so glad to see that alli® weight loss aid and my trusty bullet journal have been helping me on the journey.
