Starting your day with positivity is important to a healthy lifestyle. We often talk about the importance of positive physical health -- good diet, exercise, making sure to take your Nature Made vitamins -- but mental health is important, too! Here's how to make (and keep!) a positivity journal that can help you focus on the good stuff (plus tips on sleep journaling to start your day off right). #NatureMadeGummies [ad]

Sometimes it’s hard to think the best about yourself and give yourself the benefit of the doubt. For me, it’s especially hard in the morning, and I have a habit of kicking myself for things I didn’t do quite as well as I wanted to do them. But sometimes thinking positively just requires a good reminder of why you deserve better from yourself. (Plus, it’s really easy to give yourself a space to share these positive thoughts!)

When it comes to physical health, I try to stay on top of my game. I have been working hard lately to eat more meatless meals for breakfast and lunch, I incorporate exercise and meditation into my daily routine, and I take time for regular self-care that renews me physically and mentally.

I also make sure that I’m taking vitamins I can be confident in. My go-to vitamin of choice is Nature Made® Multi for Her plus Omega-3s Adult Gummies. I love these vitamins because Nature Made® Multi for Her plus Omega-3s Adult Gummies taste great, but they’re also a really convenient way for me to get the daily nutritional support of a multivitamin, plus 60 mg of heart-healthy EPA and DHA omega-3s from fish oil, per serving.†

I personally love that they have Vitamins A, C, and D, and some zinc, to support the immune system. As a busy mom, I need all of the immune support that I can get!†

They’re also super convenient– available at Walmart! I just pick them up while I’m doing my other shopping.

I love that Nature Made® makes a gummy I can trust. The taste helps, too — when a vitamin tastes great, I remember to actually take it on a regular basis.  Nature Made® gives me the assurance that I’m actually getting the nutrients you seek from your gummies. They specifically test their gummies for purity and potency so you get the added assurance that it has the nutrients you’re seeking.

When it comes to health, I like to make sure that my mental health is taken care of, too. That’s why I’m a huge fan of starting the day off with positivity and remembering the reasons that today is going to be okay.

I’ve spent a lot of time in my life doubting myself and my talents. And the thing is, this isn’t uncommon. I’m very blessed to have a circle of friends who can remind each other that even when our self-doubt it strong, we are so much stronger.

To make your own positivity journal, you’ll need a pocket-sized journal or another small notebook that you can keep with you. Keeping mine on hand at all times helps me, so I like a small notebook, but get one that suits you and that you’ll actually use.

I decorated mine with tissue paper, but that’s totally optional. I just think that things that are pretty are a little more fun to use, and it only took a few seconds to dress mine up a little bit more.

To use the journal, simply fill it with things that help you remember to stay positive, or things that help you remember the things that are great about you.

Mine has notes that friends have shared or reminded me of when I’ve been feeling down. When my friend Ethan got inspiration from my blog for healthy snacks, I wrote that in my positivity journal. It helps me remember that I have recipe ideas people love. When a friend reached out and told me she loved my photography, I added that to my journal, too.

Sometimes, I’ll add positive quotes or song lyrics that make me smile. And whenever I am feeling like what I’m creating isn’t good enough, or feeling frustrated with something, I pull out my positivity journal and read until I’m feeling a lot better about myself and what I’m working on. Focusing on and remembering the positives in life can help you have a more positive outlook.

Another way that I make sure that I’m taking the best care of myself that I possibly can is to work on getting more sleep. Sleep is a good mood booster and can help you with focus and productivity.

I love the strawberry flavor of Nature Made® Melatonin gummies, but I also love that it helps my body reset its sleep/wake cycle.† This is especially important after times where my sleep/wake cycle might be thrown off by travel or projects I’m working on. The 2.5 mg of melatonin is just what I need to get myself back on track!

While making my positivity journal, I also decided to make a sleep notebook to keep track of important things like dreams, how long I slept, and how well-rested I feel. It helps me take notes that I can share with my doctor as needed. Plus, it helps me recall important things that happened in my dreams (for later inspiration!)

My sleep journal stays by my bedside so as soon as I wake up, I can write down as many dream details as I can remember. I also make a note of when I woke up and how long I slept (if I can remember when I fell asleep). I love using this information to make sure I’m getting adequate sleep, and getting a boost to help reset my sleep cycle if I notice it isn’t on track.

It helps to use a sleep journal before doing other stuff in the morning, like checking social media, because the more you let yourself wake up, the less likely you are to remember dream details, and I rely on details from my dreams for inspiration on the blog or other projects I’m working on! Don’t waste those great ideas — write them down before they fade.

Keeping the essentials at your bedside help you stay on top of them. I like to start my day off with my dream journal, take my Nature Made® Multi for Her plus Omega-3s Adult Gummies, and then reflect on my positivity journal before I get out of bed in the morning. I keep a pen by my bedside. That way, I’m ready to write things down and don’t have to worry about finding everything when I’m still waking up. Getting a good routine helps you remember to take time out for vitamins and journaling each and every day.

What do you do to give your physical and mental health a boost?

  1. I love keeping a positivity journal on my nightstand. I try to remind myself to write one positive thing from the day before going to bed. Even if it is as simple as a single sentence. Great tips! ~ client
