Pick up ingredients (and Nexium to prevent heartburn!) at @Walmart. #Tailgreatness [ad]

Tailgating season is now in full swing, and I have to admit, I’m really excited. You see, here in Kansas City tailgating generally means barbecue, and y’all know how much I love barbecue. But one recipe that’s been a recent favorite when I tailgate is this: sausage and beef, blended together and stuffed with cheese, coated in barbecue sauce, and cooked in the slow cooker until they’re ready to enjoy. I can’t imagine a tailgate without them. Made with spicy sausage, they’re even worth the heartburn (which, luckily, I have a solution for).

Reduced-Sugar Sweet Cornbread

This post is not sponsored by or endorsed by Truvia. All opinions are my own.

This reduced-sugar cornbread is the perfect companion to your favorite chili recipe, and it tastes just like the kind your grandmother used to make! The lower sugar content is great for meeting resolutions and meal planning goals.

I love a good cornbread recipe with my chili. Especially if it’s a cornbread that the entire family can enjoy, including my dad, who has to watch his sugar intake. Unfortunately, sweet cornbread without the sweet is just kind of… well, blah. It doesn’t suit the chili right, which is why I set out on a mission to make an awesome reduced-sugar sweet cornbread, which would work really well in moderation to allow us all to enjoy that cornbread flavor we know and love.

Mushroom Noodle Bake

Ever have those nights where you have the perfect main dish planned out, but can't think of a side to go with it? This easy mushroom noodle bake is the perfect side dish for pretty much any meat, or can be served on it's own for a delightful vegetarian casserole. Plus, since it's only got 5 ingredients, it's a great option for throwing together-- fast!

I love a good side dish. You know, those sides that can take an average dinner of chicken breasts thrown on the George Foreman from good to, well, great. I like a side dish that is hearty, that helps stretch a meal (because come on, guys, you have to eat more than just meat, right?) and, most importantly, takes very little time, effort, and crazy ingredients to make. Luckily, this mushroom noodle bake has only 5 ingredients, takes just a few minutes to throw together before popping it in the oven, and pairs well with literally any meat dish. And hey, if you’re not a carnivore, it actually makes a pretty great vegetarian casserole option, too!
